Garage New Build

Anyone have any drawn up plans for a garage ? My existing garage is about 25 years old and is corrugated asbestos on a angle iron framework and still in good condition , it measures 16 1/2 ft long x 13 1/2 ft wide it was bought as a Garage / Workshop at the time so that I could do my Mini rebuilds but not really thinking ahead at the time I could of had the garage wider and longer as I am a bit restricted for space with tools and stuff along the sides so I am considering replacing the existing with either a block or pre - fab garage about 20ft x 18 ft ( 18ft being the full width of the garden. Anyone have any idea of prices or comments would be appreciated. The shed alongside the garage is also 16ft long and about 4ft wide and houses my compressor ( plus bikes , mower ,and stuff )
but with a full width garage I could do away with the shed.

I've been pricing up steel garages around that size - max 30m2 to stay within permitted development rules - like these:

from £3500 to £5500 erected, depending on doors, insulation, ventilation etc. Guess around £2500 for slab, electrics, drains etc.

Why not rebuild it in situ. The existing structure has obviously been there for a substantial time. If you demolished it and rebuilt it it would have the possibility to attract the planners attention via a nosey neighbour
If you replaced a wall at a time for example in a fashion that would allow the underlying metal frame to be replaced at another date or vice versa the structure has remained and would then not require new planning.
Also there would be the existing space for your toys to stay in.

Possibly build wooden panels (treated of course) to replace the asbestos ones strong enough to support themselves then replace the existing frame from within to reinforce the structure.

Had a garage that was pre-fab concrete panels on a steel frame, with corrugated (asbestos?) roof. Had a fair bit of ventilation. It was awful for damp. Overnight, bikes would get furry alloy. Every year I had to wash all tools and boxes because black spotty mould took hold all over the place.
Now in a tin garage (steel sandwich panels) with almost no ventilation, raw steel stays rust-free (flippin hot in summer though )

Maybe it was just something about that particular garage, but might be worth checking out.

Thats something to definitely get right as I have found out this winter with a un-insulated tin roof, I'm going to strip it all off and fit insulated box profile instead, if I don't my joists wont last long,
