Look for a wildlife or trail camera. They will have memory card in them.I’m looking for a security camera for my home garage.
I have no internet or WiFi connection to the garage.
I am not familiar with gadgets.
Can anyone suggest a single camera setup that might suit?
Hi, I live in a very rural area and don’t have mobile/ 4g access. Will one of these work like a standalone camera.?Google 4g cctv camera, there are a fair few options, and cheap sim cards can be had.
Coax cable? my garage is remote from the house, what do I plug the coax into? TV? or one of those boxes that people use for wired security cameras?I bought one of these.
It apparently only needs the one coax cable to operate all of its functions and a very long range, something Ed will have to configure for me next time I can trap him.

Hi gaz1there is a battery back up system that can be used with a power failure/blown fuses
it still records and sends video so in event of power failure you still catch what they are doing instead of having up to the event and then nothing
add up your tools price then consider how you protect them if you can spend all that on tools consider spending a third of it on a good preventative and protection system
My neighbour has trail cameras and removes the sim card daily.Hi gaz1
I have power in the garage , originally I was looking for something very simple that I could place discretely inside the garage and either take it into the house or remove the SIM card and view its contents on my computer.
I think I’ll now ask friends if they know anything about cctv and how to use it.
Thank you for your help. Pete.
No you would need 4 g access to be able to view it in the house. Id suggest extending your wifi to cover the garage. I have wifi in my farm sheds 50 meters from the house. Its fairly easy with point to point stuff or run a cat 5e cable out there and run cameras from that.Hi, I live in a very rural area and don’t have mobile/ 4g access. As I have no phone connection, could I remove a SIM card and view it on a computer?
Thanks Pete
