My blacksmith's leg vice has lived outside since before the 70s (and probably the 1940s!).

It hasn't rusted appreciably - even in the proper yorkshire weather.

Mount it like Tom said on an arm so it swings under the bench will give you more room on the bench and can be swung out

$14,500 for the vice. They haven't got back to me about shipping costs yet.

Do they come with a Beryllium Copper scaffold pole for that extra tweak?

the issue is my lazy ness and a need to keep things simple. Plus I don’t want to store it away from the bench

currently thinking is some sort of quick release mech and hang it under the bench when not needed

I got some galvanising done beginning of this year at galvanise UK at South kirby, they picked it up and dropped it back off for me all inclusive £350 for a trailer chassis roughly 10ft x 6ft. Although I live 5 min away from wedge galvanising I wouldn't have given them my money if they quoted me £100 they are an awful company to deal with in my experience.

Beryllium copper is a crap material for tools.... soo expensive and don't last 5 minutes
