I have an old Indespension trailer which has a galvanised (presumably hot dip) finish. Where the deck (wood at the edges) has been in contact with the side rails there are traces of rust. I was thinking of using a finish such as Galvafroid after cleaning the rust traces and before replacing the wood.
I've seen references to Galvafroid on the forum but haven't seen any real "feedback".
Is it as good as the price suggests it is?
Is there anything better or are there any alternatives?
Would it be suitable for my application?
Are there any hints or tips for using it that anyone can offer?
I think, with a bit of TLC, the trailer could be good for a few more loads; but I know that once rust gets a real hold it's not easy to eradicate.
