I have a detailed list for each can. Had an opportunity to buy a couple of pallet loads of the surplus containers for the trip across the pond here. Soon my tools etc. will be out of storage and the contents see the light of day again, as the new garage is nearly ready.Brilliant! What a cool system. I like that, but also don't, I hate having to move things to get at stuff u need, but then I'm doing it for a job not just a hobby so time is money and all that!

I agree, however here in the UK moisture & rust are your enemy; but it's easy enough to label drawers with a sharpie marker or a label maker if one tends to be forgetful, like me.

, except for the pair of sash clamps my pal gave me. One was broken so I welded it up and made replacement wooden bits - they currently live in a corner of the 'annexe' until needed [for the second time in my ownership ]
