Fusion 360 assemblies.

Can anyone here tell me how to assemble a lot of parts, in fact any parts in Fusion 360 ? I know how to draw and model things but when i have them all done, i do not know how to assemble them. Looking on youtube is not much help.

Never had this problem with solidworks, the mates were simple and easy to use.

I am learning 360 at the moment coming from Rhino and I find it extremely frustrating to do the simplest things! Copy and paste 2d ? Nope can't do that easily. Print a 2D drawing to scale ? Not in this lifetime...

Anyway the only decent Videos I have found are by Lars - this one relates to assemblies

he is the only Autodesk trainer that I have found that doesn't speak like a corporate sales brochure...

Lars gets my vote too. Easy to follow and admits to making errors which he then corrects.

I like Fusion 360 generally, but find the assemblies thing a faff compared to Solidworks, mates are much easier to do. I had a bash with a 2017 version of Solidworks a few weeks back and its still as easy to use as ever.

Yes Solidworks has always been relatively good with assemblies. Coming from Rhino with little experience/understanding of different systems is going to be a difficult learning curve - especially anything using the parasolid kernel or similar kernel.

I've not used Fusion 360 but I would assume it would be OK on assemblies? I would venture on the side it's just different from Solidworks hence the problem.

Assemblies are something I struggled with for ages - and I came from Autodesk Inventor! (Which one would expect to be similar, but isn't)

Just tried to do an assembly now, and i am fit to kick the dog, its just i don't have a dog, but i could happily kick the computer. Its such a faff to get two parts to assemble, on solidworks its so easy. Not happy .
