Hi everybody,
Does anyone ever fuse a joint on thinner material without adding any filler wire?
The reason I ask is I made a cover (a small rectangular box) to go over a conveyor motor, it was made out of 1.5mm thick stainless sheet where I lined up the open corners and fused them together without filler wire, which I've done many times for things that are not going to take any kind of weight etc. However the new guy at work was ripping me saying that it's wrong and you should always add filler wire for everything.
What do you guys reckon?
