Saw this sign round the back of a McDonalds in Stroud, Gloucestershire about 5 years ago. I wonder if it's still there doing its job, or has some McNugget destroyed it with their truck?

One that always amused us when overseas stated 'No Illegal Parking'.
Anyone want to start a website collecting only pukka council signs with grocer's apostrophes?
HGV's seems most popular - we have 2 within a 10 minute stroll of my front door.
Or the one in Wales where the council sign maker sends an email to the official English to Welsh translator and manufactures the huge sign with the automatic out of office reply - in Welsh?
Quite a few more but that one is the best known.
I'm sure there's one that directs traffic to the right in English and left in Welsh, but I couldn't find it.

Many of these around in rural areas. Due to certain hauliers using cheap generic car SatNavs rather than spending the extra on HGV/caravan specific ones

Hi, During the war in London as part of civil defence measures in the event of invasion various covert fortifications were built. One of which was a pillbox constructed at a junction on a major road into London it was disguised as a bus information kiosk, the notice on the door read "Closed all week, not open at the weekend"
