How to use up any gas refills you have or find in a skip by transferring to your can.

This Air horn refill is actually Butane from the factory and is running this torch .Lots of aerosols use butane as the gas .

I decant propane from a large bottle to smaller but don't know if i'd be brave enough to do it with the disposable bottles

Its perfectly safe if you know what you are doing, I believe Ullage is the key word.
A friend of mine works at a gas business, they have been doing it 30 years possibly longer, they had a massive explosion nearly killed them, so personally its not for me, as tight as I am I just don't want to try it.

Disposable cannisters all contain practically the same liquid gas at the same pressure, I am just transferring from one to another, the only problem j can see is overfilling, so keeping to the same weight solves that.

I have done the 1 lb propane cylinders from a 20 lb BBQ one, made up a hose assembly to do it.
However, with those small/thin "spray can" cylinders, I would at least wear heavy leather welding gloves
along with a face shield, in case of rupture.
