Hi everyone I need advice about making a small 2 litres fuel tank for a stationary engine (6.5hp lombardini)
A friend of mine gave me a good 50cm piece of 100mm square box section
I've to do the math to know how long should be considering the 2mm thickness and leaving room for little bit of expansion.
I have to clean it inside prior to weld it .
I has some rust spots inside .
Outside it's little bit rusty but not a big deal.
I would use a piece of 1" or bigger plumbing pipe as access to pour the gasoline inside, and a brass female cap to open and close the tank .
I have to close the sides of the tank ,I have 2mm sheet metal .
I don't know how to proceed if put it inside the square tube and weld it or if cut the sheet after performing a fillet weld .
And on the other side I don't know what to do I was thinking to cut the box tube at an angle to have a bracket where to put a pump .
The carburettor has a pump to fill the bowl when it's depressed and then released closing an hole with the thumb
Or give an extra fuel injection to the engine for easier (flooding) start of the engine.
Thanks in advance
