Fuel tank fittings

I have a problem with my shogun...

I've replaced the fuel pump, and now discovered the feed pipe is rusted and split.

The pipe is welded to the mounting plate, and is only available as a complete unit, including the fuel pump.
£140!!!

I want to remove the pipe, and mount a new 8mm pipe using a flange of some type which the pipe can pass through.

Can anyone point me towards a supplier of 8mm fittings suitable for petrol use?

should be easy enough to soft solder a pipe in .use a penny washer and pass the pipe through solder it on and it will stiffen it up

The mounting plate is pretty thick - a couple of mm at least, so I don't think the washer will be necessary.

I wanted to learn plumbing soldering, so thisll be a good start.

I bodged it, instead...

There was enough pipe left, after I removed the split piece, to clamp a piece of rubber hose on, so I did that instead.

The !ing thing STILL won't start tho.

Just wondering would soldered pipe fittings be considered safe on a car fuel tank ? I know it's a big no-no on heating oil pipes within the property, they have to be compression only.

What year shogun?

Have you had the fuel filter off at all, and possibly left the drain valve open on the bottom of it?

Only had one instance of non-start, and that was too much veg oil on a system with poor glow plugs in the middle of winter..

Tell a lie, more recently had a non-start issue, but that was battery related.

Does it have the AutoWatch alarm/immobiliser?

I've just looked under the car, and the size of the stain suggests I might have another leak in the fuel pipes.
The problem I have is I'm working alone, so can't crank the engine, and look for leaks at the same time.

Plus, I have no sense of smell - can't even smell petrol!

Look up BES, the website is a bit poor but they do every kind of plumbing fitting ever made. I’m sure I’ve seen 8mm bulkhead fittings

Place some paper under the car and try turning it over and check for wet paper.

I would weld the fitting on.
