fuel swirl pot

heres a few pics of a fuel swirl pot i made at work in my spare time
ive still got to tap out the holes and fit the fitting for the fuel lines then fit it to the car. thats going to be the hard bit. next iam thinking of making a fuel tank for the boot but i think it might take a couple of weeks because i only make then in my dinner breaks.

thanks hitch, i always feel i could do better but its a pain because i have to rush to get things done in my spare time at work.

The only thing I'd suggest for the future is that you tap the threads before welding or at least before you put the lid on. That way you don't have the fun of getting all the bits of swarf out

The advantage of tapping Aluminium afterwards is to work harden the thread. If you first tap and then weld, the thread is like butter.

In that case I'd tap before welding the lid on

Even better still, weld in stock and drill out the hole after the weld, if possible. Sometimes the tap can gouge the aluminium. Drilling should then harden the alu just that bit to cut a clean thread.
