In AJ’s defence I was told by an motist that braided brake pipes were not to spec and that they could if they wanted to fail a car if fitted.
Bob
That story went around a few years ago in biking circles, stories of MOT failures because non original braided brake lines were fitted, or having to swap back to original rubber hoses just for MOT . There is, apparently, nothing on the hose to say the Aeroquip are the correct quality or type for road use.
I never heard of anybody actually failing though....
We have them on our race cars at work and they get a harder life than your normal road car
the cars are left unused for no that’s at a time and unless it drips they get left on the car due to budget and time constraints we have never had them fail
What, Aeroquip, or Ebay specials?
Interesting to see that the damage pattern follows the braid pattern in my pictures.

I’ve read on a BMW bike forum I use that even the best U.K. suppliers are receiving inferior quality Chinese fake rolls of hose. They rare virtually identical, with all the correct markings too.
Someone in the supply line in the USA was filling their pockets and endangering life and limb.
Working offshore USA, in the oil game, all our lifting gear, chain, shackles D rings etc, had to come with safety certificates, and was ordered from an American company, supposedly made in the USA.... but we still got regular batches of nasty Chinese cheesey rubbish, that could not take half the SWL indicated.
