Yes i feel like I'm getting 20/30 miles less on a full tank, and it runs a bit rougher, 10 year old fiesta zetec.Has anyone noticed an increase in fuel consumption with the E10?

Ignorance is bliss

well yes, you would, ethanol is less energy dense.Yes i feel like I'm getting 20/30 miles less on a full tank, and it runs a bit rougher, 10 year old fiesta zetec.
I seem to have better fuel consumption and runs fine with E10.Has anyone noticed an increase in fuel consumption with the E10?
And available even cheaper from the washplant!Northern Ireland is about £1.39 for diesel
Oil was serious cheap last year which makes it look worse, everyone was buying extra tanks to get heating oil it was that cheap. Youd be better calculating from the year before.I'm just doing invoicing for November. Unusually I've been doing the same thing at the same site as last November so I have a like for like calendar month fuel comparison 12 months apart. £209:85 Nov 2020 and £286:02 Nov 2021.
So a month's fuel is £76:17 more this year than last. Throw in all the other overheads that have gone up in the last year and no wonder everyone is having to increase their rates to stand still.
Bloody goes up fast enough! It will come down, a price drop in crude takes a good while to filter down to the pumps. Its a futures thing, millions of barrels of it will have been sold/secured at the old price and it will only come down for the consumer when the cheaper gear is being refined.

Let's not get political. Besides 70% on the boats are refugees not migrants using Priti's departments own figures not what is fed to you by the media.time the british public stood up and be heard ,same as they are doing with the migrants coming in on boats, cause the elected is doing heehaw
I can see the case for cars, but it's not even close for vans.As a comparison, the missus had to charge the EV at IKEA on the way home from work the other day. I believe she was on about 15% and filled it to about 55%. So 40% fill, that's about 55 real miles in the Leaf. It cost £4.09 from Gridserve, a bit steep by home charging standards, that's roughly 16kWh and would have been around £2.70 at home. Home charging is around 17p per kWh whereas commercial fast chargers are around 26p per kWh the last time I checked. I get about 30mpg out of the Ranger, diesel is about £6.75 a gallon. Not a good comparison vehicle wise, but if it was a similar size car, say 55mpg, so £2.70 for 55 miles home charge, 4 quid for fast charge or £6.75 for diesel. Yes, EVs are dearer to buy, shorter range and are the spawn of Satan I'm not trying to make any ICE/EV point, just comparing fuel costs. It won't be long before there is some kind of duty recovery scheme on EVs anyway![]()
That's why I said I'm not comparing ICE/EV costs, just fuel. EV suits my wife as she has about a 110 mile round trip commute a couple of times a week. No tools or stores to move. If there was a charger at her destination then a 220 round trip would be feasible without stopping. Early days, it will power density and battery life will improve and capitsl costs come down.I can see the case for cars, but it's not even close for vans.
I bought the Vivaro new in 2014 for £12k plus vat and it has 84000 on it now. I don't intend replacing it so I'd guess it has another 10 years to do. Aside from the whole life cost you have to take things like payload and charging time during the day into account.
The current commercial EV offerings just don't stack up unless you're purely doing short journeys inside a congestion/pollution zone.
Yeah, bit of a confusing reply on my part. That's why I said I'm not comparing ICE/EV costs, just fuel. EV suits my wife as she has about a 110 mile round trip commute a couple of times a week.
