Are there people on here that own one?
I got one two weeks ago and according to the manual the puls function is only available in MMA mode, but I hooked up my Kemppi scratch start TIG torch yesterday and messing around with the menu I found the pulse function also works in TIG mode. It also has a tack function in TIG mode.
According to Fronius the pulse and tack functions for TIG should only be available on the Transpocket 150/180 TIG models, not on the standard models.
It looks like the newest standard version has updated software with a bit more possibilities.

I should have time maybe tomorrow night or Tuesday, and see what functions it has. I've got the TIG torch with it so I'm interested myself to see how well it works, I do an awful lot more TIG than stick.

With me it's the other way around. More stick than TIG.
I love everything about it in stick mode and I do like the way it welds in TIG mode and I like the options like TIG pulse which I thought I would not have on this version.
The only flaw I found so far is the comfort stop in TIG mode. Does Your's have that option?
The idea behind it is to have downslope possibility with a scratch start torch, but it doesn't allways work like it should.

I'l have a fiddle hopefully later tonight. Yeah the comfort stop will make a big difference as far as as usefulness goes, because without it, it makes working on stainless really horrible.

I had a Jasic MMA inverter with some form of comfort stop, but it worked really poorly and wasn't a reliable way to end the arc.

I had a bit of a play with the comfort stop on sunday and I did get it to work, but I couldn't reproduce it every time.
A lot of times when I'm just welding along the function is triggered and goes in downslope and the arc tapers of.

As I understand it the comfort stop is triggered by the fluctuation in arc voltage from raising and then lowering the torch.
The amount of voltage fluctuation can be set between 0.6 and 3.5V, factory setting is 1.5V.
On the 1.5V factory setting the function is triggered to often by small movements of the torch . For example by raising the torch a little bit to dip filler.
I've been experimenting with adjusting it up in steps to the max 3.5V and sometime it worked and other times I couldn't trigger the function at all.

The break voltage indeed works better, and you can set it at a level you like for cutting the arc.
But I hoped the comfort stop would be a good function to have to minimize end craters, and the times I manage to get it working it definitely helped.
With the break voltage fuction there's allways a bit of a crater when you snap out.
I'll have to get some (or a lot) more practice in with the comfort stop to find the sweet spot. If I can get it to work every time it would be a very nice feature to have.

I had a bit of a fiddle with the comfort stop again this afternoon and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.
I get the best results with the sensitivity set between 2.8 and 3.2V.
I also noticed that the cleanliness of the steel also is of influence. With test beads on 4mm plate without the millscale removed it went into downslope unintentionally a lot even with the sensitivity set at 3.5V. On clean steel it was a lot better to control at lower sensitivty settings.
The other thing is that I could not get the comfort stop to work on pulse. But that seems logical because in pulse mode amperage and arc voltage are fluctuating constantly and the comfort stop is probably switched of then.
Now I'm almost out of argon so first thing next week is to get a refill.

Yeah I managed to get it working as well, eventually. What I found is the sensitivity is very dependent on what you're doing - eg. Holding a super tight arc on thin material you can get away with one setting, but higher amps or bigger arc length - say you're walking the cup or doing in position work on a ladder or something where you're a bit shaky - you have to reduce the sensitivity a lot, or it'll cause no end of problems.
Basically it's a nice idea, but has to be set every time for the job you're doing. IMHO

I agree. The idea is nice, but they haven't worked out the bugs yet.
I think this is a new feature on the transpocket models and as it is now it is not something that is going to be used a lot.
It's just to hard to control and get repeatable results.

Gave the 'Comfort stop' another try today, but I've thrown the towl in.
To many times it doesn't do what I want it to do. When it does it's great at avoiding end craters, but it's to inconsistent.
I'm not going to use this function untill Fronius comes with a software update that works better.
@Munkul It's not us. I heard from an IWE that most people (if not all) have problems to get this to work like it should

That 'Break Voltage' function is great though. Works almost as good at minimizing end craters and it works everytime.
Voltage can be set between 10-45V, and the difference when changing the setting is very noticeable.
After some experimenting I set it at 17V for now.

Overall I'm very happy with this welder. Lovelly machine and no regrets.
