I bought a Fronius TP1500 TIG in 2006, since then it has welded about 0.5 kg. of rods and tig welded stainless for about 2 hours. I got it out in December 2009 to tig a stainless water tank and it would not power up. Was returned to Fronius Australia and they wanted $1200 for a new main board or $700 for a reco one, but gave no indication to what had happened to it.So I guess I have one of the most expensive paper weights around.
I expected a bit more than 4 or 5 hours total use from a $2100. machine.
