Doing the finishing welding was not much fun.
I try to work in sections, and use them as targets. Ideally I plan to this bit and then accidently do half the next bit as well, seems to speed up the process.
Now I have to go over and check out for bits I have missed and remove all the small spikes of wire and check for sharp edges and lumps of spatter.
it is such fun doing 'art'.
Backsmithtris.
Another fan of BUckminster Fuller. Truly the Uber Mad Scientist.
Last year I was featured on a museum poster next to him. http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=35281
I confess I almost cried when they sent me a copy.
Next up I meet John Lee Hooker.
Wow, Chunko, that is truly an honour!!! Fantastic!! Well jel!!!
my only claim to fair was being photographed and filmed with Lauwrence LLewellyn Bowen of Changing rooms and HomeFront fame, of which I was exploited... ahem, I mean featured on a HomeFront episode, creating a metal tree light to his spec, for the publicity... yeah right. I'm older and wiser now... Got absolutely no work from it, don't even really mention it on my artist profile anymore... not sure anyone would be impressed with that!! lol
