Just read an article about the Frieze art fair, and well it truly is amazing.

Sadly it's not amazing for the work.

I'm not really debating whether it is art or not, it's just that the valueations seem to have no rhyme or reason, and with prices like those, it will attract a lot of chancers and BSers.

Billionaires can't all be mad, so there has to be some kind of financial scam involved in this so called world of art.

I'm inspired to get sculpting though. I'd only need to sell one to retire!

I don't think it's anything to do with art, it's obscene spenditure and the self gratification they get from being rich enough to afford it.

Most of the items will never increase in value or even recoup what they cost.

Joking, there is some right garbage called 'conceptual art' also some great modern art going on as well.
The prices do sometimes seem just a bit mad to me.

Question is, how do you get to exhibit at these events? What percentage of backhander must you give the art experts to point the billionaire 'marks' your way?
