Friend with no hot water. Help.

Thanks for that @waddycall. There are two stats on the cylinders so it shouldn't overheat. I was just a bit paranoid about setting fire to his house! Mind you when I had a look at the old oil boiler he had a cardboard box on top of it touching the flu!

If the valve is overridden then the stats on the cylinder won’t do anything. The stats control the two port valve and the two port valve controls the boiler and pump.

Just looked at the diagram you are of course correct!
I hope the boiler stat works then......
