    Hi All,

I recently wanted to run a 5kg spool on my Migmate. Not wanting to shell out a ridiculous amount of cash for a proper spool adapter, I discovered that my old 0.7kg reel could be easily re-purposed by cutting it in half!

    Ta da!

The O.D. of the old reel fits perfectly in the I.D. of the new reel! Like it was meant to be.

This isn't something I'd seen online during my research into spool adapters so I figured I'd post it on here just in case it's a new discovery.

    Thanks

Is the original adaptor missing then?
Just wondering as it seems a bit odd that the welder has room for a bigger spool but not the correct center bore for one?

@hotponyshoes - the welder I have is third hand and very old!

It may have come with an adapter but it has been lost in the mists of time if so.
