I was recently given a washing machine to replace the ageing (but otherwise working) one Ive had for the last 10+ years.
I COULD put it in the paper for someone to buy for a token fee, I could take it to the scrap yard.
Or I could take it apart and see what uses I can find for the bits!
I imagine there's at least a variety of nuts bolts and screws. I'm not sure if the sheet metal would be of any use if it's stainless.
Some people have made firepits from the drum, though I'm not sure about that, looks a bit too redneck for me.

And one guy has used the motor and a drill head to make a bench grinder which I do like: http://woodgears.ca/reader/petos.html
Other uses for the motor I thought about were for the hog roasting rotisserie a friend is always threatening to make. That would be hilarious if you used the spin cycle to serve
There's also presumably a decent water pump in there as well...
So my question is, can you think of any other uses for any of the parts of a washing machine that would make taking it apart worth it?
