Fox wedges

I need to replace my small fox wedges as I have lost half a dozen over the last few years. I mainly use them for separating mating faces, flanges etc and they take a fair amount of abuse.

I made a couple of sets when I had access to a forge at an old place of work ( see pic below)

Does anybody know where I would be able to purchase good quality hardened fox wedges ?

I bought one set online and they were made of some sort of Bumsteel that bent at the first blow.

May be worth trying Cromwell Tools. I've never heard the term fox wedge, only just plain old wedge, any idea of the origin of the name?

Of know help whatsoever, by a mildly amusing anecdote.

Many moons ago, when I was 18 and knew everything

Me and a mate had spent most of the day trying to get the sump off said mate's Land Rover 2 1/4l.

My dad had popped his head into the garage every hour or so, taken the **** and gone back in the house. After failing to get the sump off we admitted defeat. My dad then offers the advice that perhaps we should try fox wedges. Cue the pair of us running round every tool suppliers in town, to no avail.

Even more dejected we returned to the garage, and tell the old man we've failed to obtain fox wedges. He then pointed to one of his tool boxes on a high shelf and left without a further word.

I suppose the lesson learnt was always ask for the wisdom of the ancients!

As zzr says, a leaf spring would be my first thoughts.
