I have a big old Hobart with its standard geared two roller feeder but I have bought a 5metre torch that i am going to use with it, I also have a nice four roller feeder ( not sure of the make at the mo ) but the difference is the hobart has a many core (maybe 15) multi core cable connecting the feeder to the welder but the other feeder has only four core, the main difference that i can see is there is a small relay in the hobart feeder and the burnback is on the welder it's self, but the other feeder has the burnback adj in the feeder unit.
My question is bear in mind I am using 1mm and pushing it down a 5metre torch would it be worth moding the feeder to use the four roller. I cant decide.
I may at some point be running a fair amount of 1.2mm wire ally with it also.
The hobart wire feed is a H1000 has anybody got wiring circuit ?
