Foundation Formwork/Shuttering

Hello,
I am embarking on a workshop build.
First thing is the foundation blocks.
There are 6 at 1.4metres square x 400 deep , say half a cubic metre in each.
What would you make the shuttering from.? Ply.? WPB.? etc... how thick.?
Pointers to a good constructiom method would be appreciated.
I wouldn't want to end up witth the concrete pushing the sides out.

1.4m x.4m = .784 cubic meters. Making to total of 4.7 Cubic meters of concrete. based on your calc you would be 1.7Cube off

As for the frame work
3/4 ply with a 2x2" frame would be the minimum. it need to be supported at the back at the top and bottom at least at each corner and in the middle. On all sides, so two at each corner

if in a hole just dig to the right dimensions

Those are big pads. Got a crane going in? As Mike, if below ground, dig a hole. Shuttering goes above ground level (mostly).

If you are going to shutter, don't forget it needs to be fixed down too or the 'crete will flow under. I have a story about that, but I'll not go into it now...

Poker the living day lights out of it or letting the idiot driver throw the stuff in it might. But be careful and it will be fine

Those pads are each going to be good enough for a 60' tower. I reckon he's a radio ham and going to be putting up an aerial farm, but is telling the neighbours it's going to be a shed!!! ;-)

with that size & thickness either not that great a load or for restraint or very poor ground?

The workshop is 8 X 8 metres.
The ground is a very (hard packed) granite sand.
This area was a bog, but I dug a hole and put in an auto pump, so now it's dried out ( 5 years) all the slush has been scraped away down to the firm sand hence the need for formwork.
I handn't considered holding the things down, good point.

Yes it's reinforced, the whole thing has been done by architects/design engineers and has full building regs approval from the council.
