forum running slow

Only seems to be this site - rest of the sites on the server are OK. I've tried a re-start again but still noticed slowness afterwards. I think it might well be DNS related.

It's very strange as at times here it's like treacle. But when it's not slow it's blisteringly fast.

The search engine looks broken and there is a bug in the current level of software. Going to attempt an update so things might be slow again for a few minutes.

Well that didn't work. I'll talk to the host.

Looks like the search index is broken in the database. I'm having trouble rebuilding it so will try deleting it and starting again. It might result in some freakyness as it is used for new posts lists etc.

Also the forum gets turned off whenever I mess around with the database so might be a few outages.

Another problem I'm having is an error message when I try to post.

i get that often just logging in and go to answer a post and that comes up . all i do is click on whats new 1st and it goes no problem

In Gmail thread the last post I can see is 5.03 but latest post says 19 min ago at 00.25
