Not a particular fan of any of them Few drive anything else the old drivers did sports car, long distance, Le Mans, Daytona etc with modest remuneration all in cars that were not as safe as today .

Thankfully the safety has moved on, it’s a sport about fast cars. it is not about people being killed.
Also the old championship seasons only consisted of a few races, mostly within Europe,
allowing drivers time to compete in other races and formulas.

I appreciate part of what you say, have been a RAC / MSA / Motorsport UK Scrutineer for 50 odd years & have had input into both rules & safety aspect, I also think the rules have stifled innovation for the smaller teams, it is not a sport it is big business, same as most sport to day.
Please don't get me started on the money side of drivers / footballers
Never mentioned people being killed always looking for ways to make car safer for the people who drove cars we built.

Many years ago I was working in a studio at the BBC setting up a sound booth for Murray to do some voiceover. It was a modified edit suite (in post production) and the engineers wanted to check the sound levels because Murray was notoriously LOUD. He would speak at PPM7 (when PPM6 is flat out) so I mustered all the strength I had and launched into my best Murray Walker impression:
"...AND THERE THEY GO, DAMON HILL..."
Just as Murray walks in!
He will be very much missed. Such a nice chap too. Extremely polite, fantastically knowledgeable about motorsport and a motorcycle fan to boot.

Funny thing is, for the procession that F1 has become, that was actually a pretty good race. The Bottas wheel incident was fairly interesting, err. I think something else nearly happened but the director decided to cut away from the only overtake in the entire race. Twice.
Max was nonplussed I think because he didn’t have anyone to beat. Great to see Hamilton come nowhere.

There's a balance I guess, shocking accidents of the past are way down which is good, but it's a bit too sanitised.
Bit of Ben-Hur type action wouldn't go a miss at monaco with residents as barriers, "botox spillage ends the race"
