Forming/welding bench

Sort of made a start on my new forming/welding bench. I drew it in autocad and a company in Aberdeen is water jet cutting it out for me. It's 1600 x 800 x 15mm. It's a bit of a copy and extension of the benches Contour Autocraft use. I'll post updates as I go along. At this stage I'm thinking of having a cabinet under one end and having just a shelf at the other end. The holes are for an old vice I got from a member on here.

So what task do the curves actually serve in use?

Sheet metal. I mainly do car tin bashing.

Yep that sort of thing. If you have a curved section that has a fold, then you'd tip it over in the bead roller and use the bench to dress it etc.

Ok thought it might be so. Getting images of a Morgan wing in my mind

Things like windscreen apertures etc. Rather than using a dolly you can just use the bench.

is this for older cars or do you use it to modify newer cars.
it sounds interesting work that is a skill to itself id imagine.

Just older cars, have a couple of old Volvos.

do you do it for customers as well or just your own work.
i know the english wheel end of things but i never seen a table shaped like that before, but i wasnt looking either.
the different curves are universal you just use which ever one is closest to what you want i take it.

Yeah just a few different size curves. I've ripped off the idea from Contour Autocraft.
