I would like to make top hat ally sections about 1mm thick for a Landrover.
These are the length sections under the ally floor and about 1.5 metres long.
About four of them. The u section is around 25 mm in the 3 planes and the 2 side flap sections are about the same. I have no press or such and could probably make some kind of former. Wood could be easier but would it work. Could weld something together.
If I can make these then I can fabricate the basic floor with new 3 mm ally plate and just scrap the one on it after drilling perimeter spotwelds. I want to keep it looking original from underneath, although it will be riveted rather than spot welded.I have all the new crossmember supports in steel.
Just looking for ideas to go about it.
