I've seen the artic tractor unit version over here , it was Turkish . Wasn't bad looking but Probably about as good as an iveco

Probably for the best. At least with the shells starting out somewhere warm and dry there's a chance they might make it a couple of years before they start to dissolve.

Yes, Transits were Made in Southampton and Genk. We used to supply both plants.

Ford never capitalised on their offering that would have knocked all other heavy motors into the proverbial cocked hat:



The "Transcontinental" was a heavy wagon that was way ahead of it's time when Ford introduced it in 1979. Looked on with reverence, it was THE lorry for long-haul drivers on the Middle East run and if the Blue Oval boys had got their act together and ironed out the problems with it they'd have had the boys from Scania-Vabis running back to Sodertalje with their tales well and truly between their legs!
