Here's an outside thought...sat as it has on damp grass for 6 months with a half full tank of E5 could condensation be an issue, as in I've water below the fuel? No particular indication of that.

A second, just chucking it out there comment, irrespective of this Duratec engine being fuel injected etc, the car goes like stink on a rainy day or in thick fog.

I hope if you need parts they are still available, I needed a front road spring for one a couple of weeks ago, none of our local parts suppliers had one, next day only. It wasn’t long ago replacing Mondeo front springs was at least a weekly event

Indeed I got the last fuel pipe in the UK at the time from Ford. The factory in Ukraine had been destroyed.

What made me chuckle was the new OEM part I got had a 2010 date stamp and I fitted it only back in COVID, replacing a pipe with a later date stamp.

Water injection can be used to increase engine power, so maybe sufficient water, in the form of fine droplets, passes throug the air filter to make a noticeable difference:

Damp cool air has more oxygen in it giving a power boost although I'm surprised it's that noticeable in a fuel injected car with all the sensors adjusting things to a 'normal' ratio.
Old carburettor bikes on the other hand can feel like they've been turbocharged in cool weather.
