Ford galaxy

Does any one know how many batteries in the key fob remote for an 03 Ford Galaxy. My dad has tried to change battery but unit still not working. I've had a look and found two batteries stacked on top of each other with only one having been changed.

According to good old youtube there is only one battery, perhaps there has been a change on models.

I have probably changed a dozen different makes of fobs over the years and never seen one with two batteries stacked, have seen one with two batteries side by side.

When you take the battery cover off, be *VERY* careful not to displace the immobilizer chip. My wife did this during the battery change and didn't notice now we have a remote keyfob key that wont start the car until we pay for and get reprogrammed a new immobilizer chip...

I've just spoken to a ford mechanic. He confirms that there are two batteries stacked ontop of each other

If it still doesn't work look u the re programming procedure

Thanks guys, all fixed now. First time I've seen two batteries in a key! And yes it did need reprogramming
