i get 30general/40 ish run motorway out of my cmax 1.8 so say you dont get any better out of the 1.6 as you have to rev it a bit more

How many miles /day does she do? Does she ever need to do long distance trips? Does she have off street parking?
I ask because, Nissan leaf... I'm 11k miles into electric car ownership since october, it's the best automotive decision I've made in the last 10 years...

I won't say thoughts of the leaf has not happened but she does a 300 mile round trip three times a year, the rest local runs.
The problem is she only has street parking and charge points are not very common in her rural area, don't think any of our car parks or supermarkets have them.

As i don't need to carry the tools or bits any longer am at a loss as to what to change to.
Same as @cumbriasteve been out of that business for a fair time & lost track, talking to friends the consensus seems to be buy dem vehicle with warranty only keep it till warranty stops.
Have a friend with 2 Dacia as taxis done over 25k in under 12 months without a problem but Renault based I understandbut they are keenly priced
Thats why I am hanging onto my Hyundai, the 5 year warranty is out but it has been totally reliable, getting 45 mpg local runs and probably with a bit of a heavy right foot.
It gets 55mpg on a long run with four in and four suitcases in the back, with the seats down I have had a cement mixer, vibrator plate, six sand, two gravel, a cement and still room for my lunchtime pork pie.
Can't fault the car, told my relative to buy one but she likes Fords... just can't tell me why she does.

shame she didn't have off street parking, sound like a leaf would have been 90% perfect.Law of averages ? I suppose someone has to like them.but she likes Fords... just can't tell me why she does.
I've never owned a Ford and the only one I'd ever be tempted with is the 1960's GT40 but I ain't no way I can afford one of them, mind you I do like the look of the early Escorts and Capri.
Of the various Fords I've driven over the years I can't say I liked any of them

i never had a ford for the last 20 years they where rust boxes but after 2 mates had theres the gear boxes on the fords are way better than the zafia that i have had for the last 10 years
the body work now a days on any cars seam to outlast the engine so dont worry about it any more

Don't know if Ford do but Vauxhall do, Vectra B Saloons were made in Germany, hatch and estates in Luton
My estate was a rot box, my older saloon was solid
