have seen a lot of failures with ashcroft stuff, enough to keep me away from them. for the time being its about getting it running with what we have, itll be a while before the injection and turbo set up is ready to go on.Ashcroft Transmissions who are the go to people for Landrover gearboxes and axle diff upgrades used build an axle that is direct fit to a Landrover but had a 9" Ford diff, apparently they are almost unbreakable even in heavy offroad use. Just checked their site and it doesn't look like they do it now. May be worth a phone call
Just found a youtube link, I think they were about £8K a pair
if you are going for that kind of power and torque don't start with a bog axle. get a custom axle build
We’re using the reduction box from an Allison to step up the rpm, so it is reducing torque somewhat. The intention I think is to run a 9” until it decides its had enough, at which point there’s plenty out there for strengthening them up easily availableJust looked up that engineA gm 400 will do it but you will be spending shed loads of £££`s on it before it will cope with that amount of torque, even a 9" ford axle may be marginal. When you spring your boss from the asylum next suggest an auto allison from a truck and narrow down a truck axle that has a diff lock, cant see much else living with the gobs of torque that thing knocks out.
