For a branded item, these must be the worst discs I have ever used

got some from screwfix when they were cheap. wore them out. Had some machine mart ones, spun the centres out within minutes trying to cut a trailer apart. Pays your money, pot luck.

I had some 350mm chop saw discs from Machine Mart and they were dusting and vibrating so bad I gave up on them. I thought they would balance up as they wore in a bit but they just got worse. It was a few years ago and I never used them again.

No being flippant..but seriously, do cutting discs actually go stale over time? (Assuming dry storage.) It seems a bit incredible.

I have always been happy with Dronco's if available. Also their blue sanding discs, in fact I have just used one a minute ago.

The adhesive breaks down after a while. Bad storage doesn't help

I love those from Globe (Italian abrasive company) sold by Würth
(Probably the best I've ever used)

I like to use also Metabo ones

I've tried cutting wheels from Abra Beta(another Italian abrasive company) branded Beta tools
Finding them very good (no pictures right now)

Grinding wheels I only use grinding but I have two Metabo ones as spare, when I'll use them I'll say something about.

Just found Makita cutting wheels completely worthless .

Klingspor 0.8mm.

You can’t beat them.

Never heard of them. I will investigate…..

Klingspor are made in Poland.

Without doubt Pferd EHT-115mm x 1 are the best I have ever used.
About twice the price of a standerd disc but last at least four times as long.
Another big advantage with the log life is you have about one quarter the dust.

If you leave them in direct sunlight for long periods of time ,the resin can start to biodegrade,hence the dates on them

wow that's bad... we use Rasta in my shop and Pferd at work, both very very good, I prefer Pferd flap discs but Rasta cut off discs. But I have loads of Rasta stuff free-issue from a job, so that's what we use

I've not used their cutting disks enough to comment on them but I use their flap disks, they work out under half the price of any others I've bought and last just as well as the expensive ones.

I like klingspor but only when tag have their buy 100 disks and get a free makita grinder on!
Other than that I just use fab man ones from dc iron at £45 is quid per 100

I used to get really cheap ones from a market stall, blue Knox or something and they were excellent!!
I went to local liddle a while back and they had 20 boxes x10 of 5 inch cutting disks for £1 each! And they fit in my makita 115 grinders

I really like the Flexovit 115 x 0.8mm slitting discs, but not easy to get hold of. The only place I can reliably get them from is Lawson HIS. Breezes through stainless, and is mint on a frozen lamb leg.

Let's be fair though. How many footballers would you expect to be ill. (Spin the center out of disk) None really but 1 collapsed during the Euros and one of the best has had to retire at 33.
So if we equate disks to footballers most of good and the odd ones are a bit dodgy.....but at times you can get some right crap ones.

I use tyrolit. Think they are 1mm discs.
Not had one go bad yet with proper use.
