Yes. This thread is for around the home. I bought a pair of riggers as needed some safety footwear for my city and guilds course. They are banned from a lot of work places.
One of my in laws works at the old British Steel and says its because they can slip off your feet too easily compared to a laced up boot which is understandable. However for comfort and convenience I think they are hard to beat.
Yeah funny thing ,one minute riggers are the thing, next a big no no , lack of ankle support I was told ... so I said 'what about wellies folk still wearing them "

I always dismissed riggers as an option - until I tried them and am now hooked. Warm, waterproof, tough, and easy to get on and off (I have limited use of right hand after stroke so laces can be a PIA). Only negative is uncomfortable to drive in due to the rigidity.
