Fool-proof threading to a shoulder.

I follow that channel - yes looked very good - but a lot of work!

I seem to remember the much missed John Stevenson having a hinged threading tool that flipped up when the lathe was reversed thus negating the need to withdraw the tool. Pretty slick but I can't yet find the details.

I think our Triumphs have a pop out adjustable clutch for the feed. Should stop when it hits the shoulder.

Your's does, mine is a mk1, pointy handle model.

Anyway I watched the video Pete kindly posted and I think that soft stop is perfect for threads where lead screw is kept engaged because of maybe cutting metric threads and one cant always rely upon the the lathe to stop and reverse in such tight margins!

Quite fancied an Ainjest unit for my Mk.1 Student, but it has the 6 tpi leadscrew, and no Ainjest fitment facility...
