Hi Guys,
I have my late father's Fobco Star and I'm about to put it back together after moving house.
My father was a toolmaker by trade, and I do remember when he purchased this some 45 years ago for home use.
I remember he had to purchase a different motor for it, I guess it came with a 3 phase and with using it at home needed a single phase.
Before I do reassemble it I thought I'd check it over, and everything seems to be sound, solid and no play.
I want to give the motor a little clean while it's apart as there's a lot of gunk and saw dust.
Sadly the name plate for unknown reasons seem to have been deliberately had all identification scratched off and unreadable.
But I did find a wiring sticker on the underside of the plate, attached (sorry if the photos are over large).
Is this what's called a split Phase with start cap?
Is there anything that might be fragile that I need to take extra care with, as I've read about poor soles that have snapped the board or part of the centrifugal switch.
As you can see below, I need to get some white vinegar and sodium bicarbonate on the go for the pillar.
I'd be most grateful for your comments.
Dizzwold.
