Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I've got a Fobco Star 1/2" cap drill 3 phase, was working fine then all of a sudden it would work when switched to 'on' in one position but switched to on in the other direction it would make a humming noise and then all of a sudden it made a pop and now nothing, any rough ideas? Can spares be bought for these anywhere? Hoping it's not the motor :/

When you say nothing do you mean it won't work in the first direction as well?
It sounds like the reversing switch to me, if it goes OK in one direction the windings on the motor must be OK. Disconnect it from the mains and have a look for signs of burning around the switch.

bypass the switch and run it. if its the switch faulty the motor should still run .its probably blew the contacts up inside it . there's only 3 wires in and 3 out just put some strip connectors on to try it

If the switch is original it’s just a Santon drum switch, very basic off/on/off/on type.
The wiring on mine was beyond shot to bits. Seriously bad, all the rubber was soft and mushy and the connections had touched inside lol, as I found when I plugged it in and plunged the house into darkness
Make sure it’s not been overgreased. There’s no little cast surround for the switch like some machines, the casting is just one void inside and will just fill up with grease eventually. Mine was almost touching the switch.
As above try the motor direct, if the motor has a starter winding then when its humming try manually spinning the chuck and see if it picks up? Could be the motor needs stripping and cleaning up. If it was stalling trying to start the fuse may have popped hence the pop and nothing now.
