Since I have been painting outside I have had almost zero dirt in the paint, and no flies!
I suppose it had to happen.
The fly landed on the last coat of clear as it went on. I can't decide whether to leave it,
flat and polish it or flat it and give it another coat?

I normally just nib out the body and head and leave the legs (they'll be deeper) and give it a quick spot polish, you'll never know he was there on black, the legs will show up on white or yellow but even then only if you know where to look. You named him yet?

Put one on the other side then they will match. No one needs to be the wiser !

On a more serious note, nice paint job, way beyond me.

Years ago I did a Mini on the back yard and when the greenfly spotted it they came in with a vengeance, it was orange and they loved it. I left it to dry then just washed it and T cut and it looked spot on. I bet he named it a few times but you wouldn't want to print the names on a forum your kids might read

Friend & I had that problem with Valflash (synthetic coach paint) on a removal van to big for paint shop, both of us painting we stood back to admire the thing no runs on that huge flat surface then the Swarm of flies descended not good, went in side to think about it as the VF was slow drying & could not be T cut.
Next day we had another look it was covered with the little blighters both sides we decided brush them off Flat & re coat not good, found a soft hand brush & brushed the bodies off, it was dark green you could not see the legs, it was still to soft to flat left it for a couple more days & you could not even see the legs, the paint must have still been moving enough to flow over the little things no nibs nothing.
I feel for you with modern finishes but at least you can get on it straight away

Lucky it was just a fly. I got the full load from some low flying ****e hawk over something that I'd just sprayed last week!

should have got them to flap wings could have had vertical lift
