Hi All
ok here goes for my first post of hopefully many - if necessary
I just bought a MIG welder yesterday a Eurasia MP140. I don't know how good or bad it is but it's a start i guess. I wanted to get the MP160 as it was R4499 only R500 bucks more ($71+/-) than the MP140 @ R3999. BUT, when i got to the store the 140 was on special for R2999, that's R1500 (about $214) less than the MP160, so i went with the MP140. Should be ok for most applications. Min 30A and max 140A. D/cycle 100% @ 77A and 33% at 140A and turbo cooled. The steel i will usually be welding is 1.6mm to 2.0mm so at setting 5 that should give me 100% duty cycle - happiness.
NOW, here is my question. I am reading the manual that has obviously been slapped together in china or somewhere and making head or tail of what it says is a case of reading and internet searches.
In the manual it says something about using flux core wire as well, which is great as i bought a 5KG. It then goes to say and i quote "when welding with flux-cord wire, it's available that connect "+" and "-" in an opposite way, that's the wire feed motor with "-" and the connecting cable with "+"."
So you get the point. Does it make sense to you? Do i switch polarity with flux core? ALSO, it has 2 controls - in the manual it says one is Voltage and the other is Current. I would assume one is wire feed (voltage??) is that right?
The manual says to contact them but there are no contact details - go figure. Anyways... ANY help is appreciated.
