flux core on kemppi miniarc 185 mig

I am currently using 0.6 on my kemppi inverter mig on boc pureshield (pure argon) and I'm not happy with my beed profiles.The mig wire is made my parweld (if that makes any difference)I'm more of a tig welder and stick welder but I want to use my mig more often in the workshop but If I get a 2nd bottle I never see a return on it since work is so quiet.I tried a roll of parweld flux core wire on straight polarity and reverse polarity.results were terrible.Does any one have any advice or links to info on flux core wire and whats the best brand of wire to use and settings on a kemppi inverter mig?I used flux core on a fronius in the college for a pressure vessel and results were brilliant.It was a fronius synergic 3000 mig and the flux core wire was lincoln wire and I think we left the gas on if that made any difference. (I had nothing to do with setting it up it was another student!)

You are using the wrong gas. You want argoshield light really.

Assuming its mild steel, yes?

I appreciate you dont want another cylinder, but you will get poor results if you use the wrong consumables.

I wasn't sure if the pur argon would make much of a difference!I can get rent free botlles but they work out more expensive than boc bottles but I hate the idea of more direct debits.Is there a good quality flux core gasless wire for mild steel.I noticed on the discovery channells they used flux cored on site for welding the bridges.I'm not sure if it was gasless flux core or not.I just done a bit googling there and discovered there are 2 types;gas shielded and self shielded.

Practice and more practice! You should be able to do stuff like that with your Kempi once you get used to it.
Note how close and flat the welds are compared to normal gas wire welding. Doing this sort of welding outdoors is one of the joys of flux-core welding.
By the way I have found Lincoln flux-cored wire to be one of the best. I use 0.8 mm and 0.9 mm.

Yeah I heard its a better process to mig for pressure vessel welding.My welding instructor worked on pressure vessels using flux core.Id like to get the hang of it because it would be much handier and whats the point in having a nice compact mig if u hav to pull a huge bottle around the workshop.HAHA!!!the pureshield is great for welding my e30 bmw (pickup truck) but for heavier stuff its not as good.I'm getting a very convex profile.

My Minarc works well with plain co2 and .8 wire and the cylinder is not too large to move round on the trolley I made.
