Keep getting the failure light coming on and shutting the machine down..anyone have any idea what it could be as cant seem to find much infor other than generic rotary comp info on net. Checked oil level and hoses including internal power which is normal

was working perfect on mains 3 phase and then we moved to another address and wired it to a 50 KVA Genset and had it perfect for a day and now failure light is flashing..

Do you know if the motor is direct via a star-delta controller or a soft start on a VFD?
If vfd is it giving any codes, these big compressors have so many parameters monitored, pressure differentials across filters, motor amps may be monitored. (if the generator voltage is off the motor may be outside of the monitored amp limit causing an alarm).

motor is star delta connected and frequency 50 and voltage is bang on on all phases and collectively..had the blasters working for 2 hours solid today and comp was getting hot but seemed normal then stopped for a cuppa and would not restart going to have to call someone in it looks as we have work stacking up

Whenever I specify or fit a compressor I always have a tee and valve ready for standby or rental compressor to allow for a fast connection.

I think your compressor probably can’t handle that duty cycle mate.

Constant run compressors that can handle that kind of CFM are not cheap.

See them in power stations all the time. Big buggers.

We run a road compressor for blasting. 140cfm.
Oil cooled.

Its been working with the same blasters for a year in last address with no problem..in fact it has a 2 meter high stand up tank and with the blasters going it maintains 10 bar in the tank mate...belter of a machine but atm its got the flu
