Don't understand why a lot of you are wasting your money on lemsip.

The only active ingredients are paracetamol, caffeine and vitamin c.
Have a cup of tea or coffee and take paracetamol and vitamin c pills, both of which are cheap as chips.

If you want a hot lemon drink buy the double concentrate no added sugar from lidl and have it with hot water.

I would agree 100%... +1....

Drop the no caffine coffee - cheap Paracetamol 500mg over the counter tablets - and orange juice....

My mother once told me there is more Vit C in a raw onion than an Orange - who know's...? Old wives take maybe...?

I usually take paracetamol until it's advanced to the stuffed up nose stage....then I take lemsip before bed for the decongestant mainly.

I now have the Jab and haven't had proper Flu for the last 25 years.

Paracetamol, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid, Sucrose, Aspartame, Sodium Citrate, Saccharin Sodium, Curcumin, Lactose, Polysorbate, Silica, Caster Sugar and Lemon Flavour.

Oral phenylephrine is considered no better than a placebo.
You really need pseudoephedrine, but that's a pharmacy only drug.
If you buy some, don't asked for a lithium battery and a box of matches at the same time.

What's in the nose spray? They are the only thing that unblocks me when I have a cold

It does work as a nose spray, just not if swallowed.

You can buy otc decongestants that are much more effective than phenylephrine.

I've had a cough ever since contracting the covid plague several years ago. Cough every morning for a few minutes upon waking up, and then intermittently through the day. Scan's were taken of my lungs over a six month period without finding any physical cause.

Covid gave me horrific hair loss for a couple of weeks and left me with permanent tinnitus. Must be coming up five bloody years Luckily the hair loss stopped, it was coming out in clumps and blocked the shower drain!
I currently have what I'm passing off as 'a cold', at least until we go back to work on Monday when it might be congenital streptopneumonic alzheimfluenza

I did say active ingredients.
As @badabec said, phenylephrine has been proven to be ineffective taken orally.

Take paracetamol, vitamin c tab, sudafed or a similar otc decongestant along with a cup of tea or a lemon drink sweetened with honey.

Works out a lot cheaper than lemsip and more effective.
