I am building a small wood burning patio heater from a gas bottle.
I like my chiminea, but it eats wood so I want something that I can control.
I will be using the cylinder horizontally with the front cut off to make the door.
In the middle of the door will be a vent tube fitted with a butterfly arrangement to regulate incoming air.
The chimney will be fitted to the top of the cylinder at the back. I am thinking of fitting another butterfly valve at the bottom of the chimney. Do I need a baffle as well? My idea would be to use a semicircle of metal mounted inside and just infront of the chimney. It would come about 1/3 the diameter.
Any thoughts?
