flowmeter for disposible bottles

i have decided to use disposible bottles for my new tig setup as i dont want another full size bottle hanging about. basically i have a bought a small disposible regulator but i have no flow meter. first of can you even get them to go with the small disposible regs? and secondly do i really need one, i have always had them on big setups at work but is it really necessary for my little one at home? also this is gonna sound stupid but as the little regs have no gauges how are you sure you are getting the right pressure?

I think you may be disappointed with how long a disposable argon will last on a tig set up .......sorry never heard of a flowmeter that fits disposables either ......i rent an argon cylinder but use co2 with mig .....my compromise

disposible regulators ive seen are either on or off no adjustment and those bottles are a complete waste of money , time and space (feel free to add anything if ive missed it)
they last a massive ten minutes worth of weld time and if you need to purge any tubing or alike in order to weld it with a tig then forget it

did i mention they are no good

For a bit of a joke last year i collected loads of the emptys off of people i know and made a raft with them. it failed the string broke they all floated away!!!!!!!!

Can the flow meter go directly on to the bottle or does it have to go on to a reg that is attached to the bottle?

If you want to make sure you have the correct flow get one of the pea shooter types that you stick on the end of the torch

yeh i know they are **** but i just cant warrant another bottle, especially with boc's price increases this year! the disposible bottles are just a temp measure really, so is the consensus i should not bother with a flow meter?

Go with the peashooter...will be ok when you change to larger cylinder later...
