Flexible stainless pipe

This is a bit of a long shot I know, but does anybody know where I can get hold of some?

I need it to be between 36mm and 45mm internal diameter, and I need two 8m lengths.

I have seen some on ebay, but it was pre-packaged for the boy racer brigade in 1m lengths and would cost £85 per metre delivered

heres the stuff I need, and yes it will be for the same purpose

it's to carry water from subaru ej25 to radiator in the front of a beetle.

I had some a long time ago, but can`t remember where i got it from. More to the point, post up some more pics of the project, i thought about something simialr a while back after seeing one in PPC or something like that and being given a rusty beetle (now scrapped)

the pic is not of mine, its someone else's.

I asked him where he got it and he said it was in his dads workshop and had been for a while so the origins are not known.

as for my project, it's not started yet, I'm just in the research stages at the moment.

Forgot to mention, personally I wouldnt use stainless flexy, when i did (although with more heat and vibration probably) is was very prone to fatigue and cracking, the last thing you need is to lose all the coolant. Also, being corrugated, and lumps of anything, or just general scale/sludge are going to get caught in it, build up and could clog. I`d ben up some normal stainless tube and join with silicon tube, or use big bore braided stuff.

Not sure they've got flexi s/s water hose, but these guys have all sorts of hoses, including some nice looking blue silicone hot water hose, which would look the part.

So how do you make the connections between corrugated stainless and engine/radiator? Would'nt have thought a hose clip would be be much good. I have fabricated a few bits and pieces for these sort of projects, usually ally or stainless tube with silicone hose couplings over beaded ends.W/A

Use something like this..(don't know it's proper name but it's certainly a hose clip!)

I have a nova kitcar that once was on a vw chassis with a cvh in place of the aircooled lump, running from the motor at the rear to the front mounted rad down the centre tunnel were two large bore copper pipes. At both ends were rubber radiator hoses...
Cheap, never gave any hassle and obtainable anywhere...

That doesn't look like corrugated stainless, I meant making a pressure/watertight metal to metal joint with just a hose clip. W/A

I've got a similar task with a range rover, engine in the front but rad in the back. I'll use suitably rated rubber/fabric/etc hose. the stuff is around. I've previously used it for wet exhausts on boats.

Luke, for your range rover, I have used 35mm copper pipe for plumbing a rear mounted radiator in. Use yorkshire fittings to give something for the jubilee clips to grip against. I used silicon hoses but ordinary rubber will do.

Hi your pics look like vacuum systems flexi pipe clamped with a shoe type clamp acting on tapered flanges,these are available from vacuum pp suppliers such as Edwards, or Stokes not cheap though and not good in hot/corrosive atmospheres,we use them in Durr degreasing plant and the caustic eats them,HTH
