Flat Belt Line Shafting

One of the locations where we look after their telecoms is a large country house and gardens in Somerset run as a charitable trust, they have recently restored the water mill and in the process they have some line shafting bits surplus to requirements.

The wheels are about 4' 6" to give you some idea of the scale (sorry no mug to hand).

Just to add there are some other wheels etc. not pictured, you can see some of it in the background of the second picture.

My first thought was, these 'new world' garden designer types would go nuts for those.

Balanced a pulley of a similar size to those last week. It was a bit scary when your calculations tell you to put 700g onto it.
