whats a good brand that don’t cost the earth.

It’s a recommendation for my boss.

He wasted money on wheels from B&Q, they lasted about 10 mins

I too would say Wurth. Their 1mm cutting discs are excellent. Yes, they cost a bit more and as a consumable it messes with my head that by using them I am wearing them out, but they last twice as long as anything else but do not cost twice as much.

We tried a few different makes klinspor Sait Norton and some cheapos

Value for money we found Norton a good compromise

I bought some fibre discs on ebay and when they arrived they were Sait branded and have been excellent and durable. For use on wood you don't need anything fancy, aluminium oxide should wear well.

I found that gently gently makes thin cutting wheels last so much longer.

I used to plough through them at a prestigious rate, until I learned how gentle to be.

Is it flap discs for angle grinders you are looking for? We use them at the mens shed & irrespective of what make you buy they always clog up if you use them on wood. A lighter touch helps keep them cool & stops the wood burning into the disc. You can get a rubber stick in screwfix to unclog them, using them on steel will also sometimes unclog them.

I bought a batch of Bluespot discs for the shed & they are very good on wood & quite good on steel as well!
