Hey guys.
I'm soon going to try to replace my rear wheel arch that has damage on the inner arch and also the main panel. I see with people who have patch panels and when they cut out the outer panel they place the patch panel behind the existing panel. I'm not sure if these panels have a natural flange on them to support this overlap or not.
My car doesn't have patch panels available so I've had to take arches from a donor car. What I'm wondering is should I try to take the new arches and flange them to fit behind the existing panel or should I butt weld them?
If I do go the flange route will a 5mm flange hand tool work or do I need a larger flange of 10mm? Can I get away with a hand tool or am I going to cause trouble and do I need a pneumatic punch even if I get one of the cheapy ones?
