@fizzy Sorry to hear about your suffering, I have had various proceedures down there, prostate cancer, kidney malfunction, liver running on half throttle, etc. That bile duct proceedure sounds rough.

I guess you have a urinary catheter, here's a tip: When they let you go home... pull out the catheter yourself! Very slowly!
.The first time, I allowed a big burly African nurse to remove it, and she whipped it out like she was trying to pull start an outboard motor with low compression, on a frosty morning, the pain literally doubled me up on the floor, and I'm not 100% sure John Thomas has recovered from the trauma lol.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. It does help.
I had a bad gallbladder attack but the main problem now is an abscess on my liver.
I am on 3 different iv antibiotics 3 times a day. Blood sugar has gone mental due to infection so insulin injections twice a day.
Trying to run a business from my hospital bed doesn't help either.
Food is the worst problem. They keep trying to give me fatty foods and sugary desserts which I just can have so living on 400 calories a day. I was pretty fit coming in but getting weaker by the day.
Had endoscopy Friday to remove some stones from my bile duct. Horrible experience and they had gone anyway

Sounds like we need to leave you where you are for now, but perhaps the forum should be trying to break in with some wholesome food?!

Maybe poor but I'd lay odds that it's nutritionally balanced - albeit to a low budget. I've never had any complaints about hospital food, after all it's not an hotel and whatever they're doing is for my benefit.

Seems like it's the same across the board. But whilst the management and coordination was appalling while Mom was in there for 6 weeks the care "seemed" to be the best part.
A lot of the individual parts work great. Palliative care team was great but getting end of life discharge sorted shows up the "slopes shoulders"

I ended up asking who's job it was, most of it is privatised so once you get past the beaurocracy and speak to the supplier as they want paying/money they get the ball rolling quickly.

Leaving aside the Nurses, who in general were brilliant , the backdoor privatisation is that bad that instead of feeling sad my mom has finally passed away I was pleased she is no longer subject to the pain and suffering that was inflicted on the whole family.

So fizzy whatever you do make sure they don't fob you off. Make sure if you need something there is someone fighting your corner if you need it chap.
